Why bamboo?
The Japanese bamboo,"ta-ke" which Clover makes the crochet hooks from, consists of a lot of tough vertical fibers. Bamboo is a natural material with strength and flexibility. It is fitted for crochet hooks because of its smooth surface and comfortable hold.

Why Japanese Bamboo?
Crochet hooks need to be made from strong bamboo with sufficient length between joints. Although bamboo grows all over the world, the Japanese bamboo "ta-ke" is the best choice for these requirements. Clover uses 4-5 year old bamboo harvested during dry season, between October and March. It is a nature's gift to be able to grow in the difference of temperature through 4 seasons.
